Corsa Pévèle

Combines the best of both worlds: depending on which wheels you put on it, you have a responsive road bike or a versatile gravel rider.

The bottom bracket is slightly lower than on traditional road bikes. This ensures a lower centre of gravity, which translates into a controlled ride feel. The wheelbase, in turn, is just slightly shorter than that of a gravel bike, providing extra liveliness and responsiveness.

Handmade in Italy

"Corsa" has been the quality label for high-end steel bikes since Eddy Merckx Bikes was founded in 1980.

Up until recently, the steel frames were welded by Johan Vranckx, who has been welding frames for Eddy Merckx since he was 16 years old. He learned the craft at De Rosa in Italy.

Now that Johan has retired, we went back to the roots: the Corsa frames are nowadays handmade in Italy.

Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH)

Every Eddy Merckx Corsa bicycle is equipped with a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH). The UDH is a standardised solution for attaching a bike's derailleur to the frame.

The UDH makes it easy to replace your derailleur, whatever brand it is. In addition, the hanger ensures better and more consistent shifting behaviour.

All-road frame

The geometry of the Corsa Pévèle combines the best of road and gravel bikes. The bottom bracket is slightly lower than on traditional road bikes. This ensures a lower centre of gravity, which translates into a controlled ride feel. The wheelbase, in turn, is just slightly shorter than that of a gravel bike, providing extra liveliness and responsiveness.

Tyre clearance goes up to a 40 mm tyre on a 1-chainring setup. If you have a setup with 2 chainrings, the tyre clearance goes up to 38 mm.

In addition, the Corsa Pévèle also has attachment points on the top tube as well as the down tube, giving you extra options for carrying panniers and other accessories.

Columbus steel

For the Corsa bikes, we use a mix of Columbus Zona and SL tubes.

The SL in Columbus 'SL' stands for 'Supper Leggera', or super light. It is the most famous Columbus set. Designed for high peformance. They are double butted seamless tubes that are cold worked. They are extremely resistant to metal fatigue.

Columbus Zona tubes are very strong and durable: they have excellent resistance, are reliable and well resistant to metal fatigue. Yet the weight of this type of tubes is relatively low. The steel consists of Triple/Double butted 25CroMo4 alloy seamless tubeset.

This mix makes for a fast, agile and comfortable bike. A bike in which the typical characteristics of steel bikes come back resilience, robustness and durability.

Double / Triple butted tubes

With Double or Triple butted tubes, we're talking about two or three different tube thicknesses. The more tube thicknesses are used, the lighter the bike will be. The places where the tubes are welded together should be sturdier than in the middle, for example. Making this middle section thinner also saves weight.
