Le Coffee Ride and Eddy Merckx Bikes host first social ride
On Sunday 29 September Le Coffee Ride and Eddy Merckx Bikes will host their first joint social ride. Together with our ambassadors we will set off for a 94-kilometre ride (with 1,650 metres altitude) through the breathtaking Ardennes. Along the way we will provide the necessary supplies and both before and after you can enjoy a relaxing coffee or well-deserved drink.
In 2024, we entered into a promising partnership with Le Coffee Ride. A logical match, as we both carry Belgian cycling heritage at heart. This partnership is now reaching new heights - literally and figuratively - with our first social ride. After all, as a bicycle builder and bicycle clothing manufacturer, we stand not only for top quality, but also for unforgettable experiences.

Stavelot
For the start and finish location, we didn't have to look long. After all, we are heading to bustling Stavelot in the heart of the Ardennes. The town on the Amblève is not only the cosy home of Le Coffee Ride, but also the setting for an iconic Eddy Merckx monument. On the flanks of the Côte de Stockeu, the bronze masterpiece refers to the great successes the Cannibal achieved on this terrain.
On the way, there are of course some tough calf bites waiting for the riders. The course builders combined the well-known roads of the big Ardennes classics with some hidden gems in the region. In the near future, Le Coffee Ride will also link an Eddy Merckx Route (‘Eddy's Loop’) to the grandmaster's statue, just like in his native Hageland region. The accompanying GPX file will also be offered by our ambassadors in the future. So as a first, you will already discover the route during this social ride!

Daily schedule
The meeting at Le Coffee Ride (Av. Pierre Clerdent 14, 4960 Stavelot) will take place - with a coffee for the enthusiasts - from 9 am, so that the social ride can start at 10 am. Along the way, we will set a pace that any amateur can follow and also distribute the GPX, so you can continue at your own pace if necessary. Around 12 o'clock we will provide a supply. According to the expected schedule, we will arrive at Le Coffee Ride around 2.15pm, where we will have a nice chat over a snack and a drink.
Registrations are via Le Coffee Ride's website. The price (20 euros) already includes the coffee before the start, supplies (sugar waffles, bananas, water) and the post-ride drink. In addition, you will enjoy all kinds of benefits. For example, you can test the Eddy Merckx Bikes yourself and you will discover Le Coffee Ride's premium cycling clothing in detail.
